TEACHING

Our Teaching program mission is to provide sustainable educational support within disadvantaged schools and communities to reduce inequality in education. Through our volunteers, we aim to empower underprivileged students by improving their future prospects and equipping them with the skills needed to actively engage in a multi-national community.

The schools we work with are a space which gives affective attention to all their students in an environment of tolerance, dialogue and cooperation. Schools are attended for children from 4 to 13, depending on the educational level, kids study math, history, natural science, geography, English, gym, etc.

Some of the volunteers responsibilities are:  providing conversational English teaching, you can greatly enhance the learning experience and the future prospects of many children. Often you will find that all you have is a blackboard and a piece of chalk in the classroom. Fortunately, the main resource you have is yourself. The students will want to find out about you. They will want to know why you have chosen to come and teach in a school in Argentina. Lots of the lessons will give you the opportunity to explain about where you live or your interests and hobbies at home. Many volunteers choose to help out in other areas too, helping students with extra-curricular activities like sports, drama, or music lessons for example.

Creativity is an important tool that can be acquired during the students’ cognitive development. To achieve this, a suitable learning environment should be created. This space should provide students with opportunities of interaction in which the acquisition of a new language is seen as a meaningful process and not as a pointless final product. When such an environment is created, then students are given the chance to experiment, explore, create and recreate with real imaginary and creativity.

This program can only work with the most dedicated and enthusiastic people. If you can roll your sleeves up, get stuck in and work with a  team of service-Minded talented People, then welcome to Córdoba!

The project is available from March to November.
